Projects with Children and Young People

The CRC 1167 regularly participates in events of the "Junge Uni Bonn" and also organises separate special events with schools to give children and young people first insights into the exciting topic of premodern power and domination.

In 2017, 2018 and 2019, the CRC 1167 participated in the Science Rally around the Hofgarten for 13 to 17-year-olds. In one rally, creativity was required in a writing competition, in another year, coats of arms and coins were closely examined…

In 2018 (February 5, April 16), members of the CRC contributed lectures to the Children's University for 8 to 13-year-olds: Among other things, they were able to learn about power and domination from archaeological excavations and how to meet a king.

Forscher- und Kreativtag
In 2018 and 2019, the CRC participated in the Research and Creativity Day at the Löwenburg Primary School in Bad Honnef: Here the focus was once on the European Middle Ages, and on another occasion on "myths, mummies and power" in ancient Egypt.

Individual events
In 2017 and 2019, the CRC organised activities for history classes at the Tannenbusch-Gymnasium, a school which cooperates with the University of Bonn: Participants were able to get close to several centuries-old documents and experience a special tour of the Egyptian Museum.
