Whether at the Open Day of the Federal President in the Villa Hammerschmidt, at the summer festival of the University of Bonn or at the Dies Academicus: The CRC is present with information booths and lectures in order to provide a broad public with insights into the latest results of our research network...

The open day at the Villa Hammerschmidt on June 24, 2018 is certainly one of the highlights of the recent years: Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier talked with Matthias Becher (Spokesperson of the CRC 1167) and Katharina Gahbler (Managing Director of the CRC 1167) about the latest research trends on premodern power and domination. Through a kind of memory game about prominent minds and their designations of (supposed) office and function, they exchanged views on the current relevance of these categories. A detailed report of this event can be found here (in German).

The CRC 1167 is also regularly represented at the open day of the University of Bonn, the Dies Academicus, which takes place twice a year. In 2017 and 2019 in particular, numerous members of the CRC 1167, including many junior researchers, contributed lectures on their current research work.
