Macht and Herrschaft in Indo-Persian historiographical texts from the Delhi sultanate period (1206–1526)

This project focuses on two questions: (1) how are Macht and Herrschaft represented in Indo-Persian Literature from the Delhi Sultanate Period (1206–1526), and (2) how are these phenomena mediated in texts which are written either along ideal types or explicitly formulated models. Besides narrative strategies of expressing the (de-)legitimation of Herrschaft, we discuss the textual ways of representing the indirectly expressed forms of exercising it.
